I have to admit, when I first heard about Googlewhacking in 2002, I thought that it was quite sad. However, I tried it recently and have to admit, although it is rather sad, it is also quite addictive.
It's quite simple. Go to Google, type two words into its search bar and see how many hits are displayed. If only one hit is displayed, then you have found a Googlewhack. There are two simple rules. Firstly, both words must be in the English language (as defined in Dictionary.com). Secondly, both words must be in a proper sentence, and not just as a list of words on a webpage.
Three examples of Googlewhacks that I've found are 'gimmer omelettes', 'gimmer tandoori', and 'gimmer censored' (for some reason, Googlewhack doesn't recognise this last one was as a whack). There are thousands of others (226,000 at the last count).
