Yet again, I've been slack keeping my blog up to date. I should stop having a blog if I can't be bothered to keep it up to date.
Wednesday 11th March: I can't remember getting up to much today, but I did order two soap dispensers from Homebits. The ones that I'd bought from Homebits for the shower are really good, and the ones that I'd bought from Tesco are pants, so I'll be taking them back for a refund.
Thursday 12th March: After work, I met Julian at Langley station. He'd brought his bike with him, so, after a quick cuppa, we cycled into Datchet for a curry and a few beers.
Friday 13th March: I can't remember much about what I did this evening, but I did put up the two soap holders that I'd bought during the week. Looking at my rawlplugs, I'd bought 100 a few years ago, and there are about a quarter left. Surely I hadn't drilled 75 holes in the walls of my house!
Saturday 14th March: I woke up at about 07:00. I wanted to wash the sheets that I'd collected from Tesco on Wednesday because it looked like good drying weather, but thought I'd better wait until 08:00 before using the washing machine. When I'd collected them on Wednesday, the woman had said that I'd ordered 6 sheets, but I thought she'd just got confused with me buying 3 double-sheets. It turned out that it was me getting confused - I'd bought 3 twin-packs of double-sheets. Ooops!
I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to visit my parents next Sunday, so I took them out for an early Mother's Day meal at Laicram Thai Restaurant in Blackheath. Back at their house, I was sleeping in the living room because their spare room was being worked on. Unfortunately, this meant I had to wait until my father had watched Match of the Day before I could go to sleep. I was surprised to find it quite interesting!
Sunday 15th March: My mother and I went out to the Farmers' Market (I bought some chocolate brownies to take to Sarah's), a kitchen shop (I bought a milk jug and a tea strainer), the station (my mother bought the newspapers, and I bought my train ticket from a very rude man), and a health food shop (my mother bought some humous for Sarah). I had a little something to eat before catching my train, but didn't want to eat too much, because Sarah was cooking me dinner.
I arrived at London Bridge too early, so walked around the station for a bit. There's not much to see, so I decided to start walking towards Sarah's house. I walked past a Pret a Manger, and remembered that Pret a Manger has just signed a deal with Cloud, so, although the shop was closed on a Sunday, I tried to connect to its wireless hotspot, and was able to. Using Google Maps, I found out that it wasn't that far to Sarah's house, so I started walking. Soon afterwards, I realised that it was the City of London's wi-fi hot-spot, not Pret a Manger's!
I arrived a little before Sarah, so went to sit in the park for a bit. With the chocolate brownies and humous, Sarah didn't have to prepare too much for lunch, but a did get a few cups of tea. I wanted to try climbing The Monument, so we walked back towards London Bridge. We stopped off at the library on the way to get some CDs, which meant we arrived at the Monument five minutes after it closed. Oh well, we'll have to go up it when Sarah gets back from Ireland.
We then went to Liverpool Street station to buy Sarah's tickets to Ireland, had a bite to eat at the Wetherspoon pub, and then went to watch The Reader. By the end of the day, my phone had no battery left, and my iPod had very little battery left, so I felt a bit lost during the journey. Fortunately, my father had saved some newspaper cuttings for me, so I read them during the journey.
Monday 16th: I popped into Tesco on the way back home to get a refund for the extra sheets and pillow cases that I'd ordered, and also for the useless soap dispensers. The sheets wasn't a problem, but because I'd bought the soap dispensers over a month ago, Tesco would only exchange them for other goods. I didn't really want to go shopping, but quickly found a few things to exchange for the soap dispensers. Back at home......[Censored].
Wednesday 18th: Knowing we might be in a rush on Saturday, I bought two day returns to Twickenham on the way home today. Believe it or not, I'm going to watch the Calcutta Cup. Having been told on Monday that most of my wine would be off, I decided it was time to get rid of my wine rack, but I still had one bottle left. I knew Elly had bought be a wine holder years ago, so I went through my kitchen cupboards looking for it. I found lots more stuff to give away on Freecycle, and eventually found my wine holder.
