Dinner With Bird (2009-03-10)

Category: Diary. Posted: 2009-03-25 23:54:32 GMT.

I had got a bit confused with my evenings this week. I'm not sure why, but I thought I was seeing Bird on Friday, so had arranged to see Julian on Thursday. Bird had other plans on Friday, and had thought we were seeing each other on Thursday as we normally do. Fortunately, her plans for tonight had changed, so we met up tonight.

At about five o'clock, I got a text message from First Great Western saying that several trains from Slough to Paddington were cancelled. Before leaving work, I popped over to Gimmer's work to tell him about the cancellations, just in case he was planning on going into London. He wasn't. but he did tell me that we'd discussed going out for beer on Saturday or Sunday. I really am an old fool - I thought we'd arranged to go out for beer on Friday, so had arranged to see my parents on Saturday night and Sarah on Sunday!

Anyway, I cycled home, and gimmered around at home, waiting for Bird to call to let me know she was leaving work. I fancied going somewhere within walking distance, so we went to the Toby. Normally when I meet Bird at a pub, I start a tab at the bar, and then have a beer while waiting for her to arrive. She always gives me jip for this, so, today, I paid cash for my beer, and sat down at a table in the restaurant area. This confused her when she arrived! Unfortunately, Bird wasn't feeling very well, so we didn't stay very long, but still had some nice food and a nice chat. I was feeling pretty tired, so watched Mistresses and the BBC News, and then went to bed at about 11 o'clock.
