Lunch Date With Bird (2008-08-21)

So that I could answer the phones during our lunch date, I had suggested that Bird come to my office for lunch, but I decided that I was entitled to a proper lunch break, so I took one. We met outside Pizza Hut, but it was full, so we went to an Italian restaurant instead, and ordered the lunchtime specials. Bird was still feeling a bit rough, so I ate half of her food as well (although I didn't manage to finish two desserts). She was looking as gorgeous as always, and looking forward to a weekend in Madrid. Zoe and I still hadn't planned our weekend away yet.

On the way back to the office, I called Zoe while I was cycling through the park, to suggest that she brings her dive computer and qualification book, so that we can go diving if we want to. It took me longer to leave the message than I expected, and I started cycling downhill while still talking. This wouldn't have been a problem, but I had the phone in my right hand, and my left brake didn't work very well. Fortunately, I finished the message quickly, and managed to use the front brake as well. I'm really going to have to tighten up the brake cable soon.

Back at home, I gave my bike a good clean and lube, using the chain cleaner that I bought a few weeks ago, to make sure that I got off all the crap that I'd noticed while fixing the bike last weekend.
