I don't remember waking up when Sarah left, but I did wake up just before 10 o'clock, when Sam walked past. I wasn't feeling 100%, but wasn't feeling as bad as I expected, considering I'd been drinking from midday to 2AM, and had drunk beer, champagne, and Pim's. Perhaps my idea of not having wine had paid off. I got dressed into my jeans, and transferred everything from the pockets of my suit trousers. In the pocket, I found two ten-pound notes - so much for not having enough money for the taxi! I mislaid my iPod sock last night. I wasn't really that worried at the time, because I knew I had another one at home, but I did check my pockets again, and found nothing.
I got a text message from Zoe asking whether we could meet for breakfast, and saying that she can't remember much from the yesterday. For somebody who arrived late, she had done quite a bit of catching up! Feeling tired, and needing a bit of "Billy time", I decided that I would probably head back home today. Dindin tried persuading me with beer and curry, but I decided that my liver needed a rest! Becky also called me from Ireland, wondering how she could prove she's a diver, without having her qualification book with her. I called Max on the off chance she had copies of people's qualifications, but she doesn't. All we could come up with was asking the dive centre to call Max.
Anyway, by the time Zoe and Emily were ready, it was almost lunchtime (thanks to Dindin for tea and toast), so, instead of going to Café Retro for breakfast, we went to the Pig and Fiddle for lunch. It took a while to shift Rodney, but we got there eventually! Between the 7 of us, we had 7 soft drinks, and no alcoholic drinks. Oh dear! The burgers took a while to arrive, but we got served eventually. Rodney was going to London for a party, and I was going back home, so I looked up the times of the trains before we left the pub. We managed to lose Rodney on the way to Dindin's place, but he sent me a text message saying that he was going to get a later train, after having ice-cream. I ended up catching a later train too, but didn't see Rodney on the platform. I found myself a seat, and slept most of the way to Reading. I got quite confused at Reading, but eventually figured out what train to catch to Slough. During my journey, I arranged a "date" for the evening with the 23-year-old from Windsor. She said she was going out with mates in Windsor, but would get a taxi to my place once the night was over. Job done!
Back in Slough, I walked to work to collect my bike. While I was there, I spent an hour or two sorting out what had cropped up while I'd been away. While I was doing that, MarkE called to ask how the day was going, and to check what time things started. The fool thought that the wedding was today, and not yesterday! Back at home, I opened all my windows to let air into the house, delaying turning my PC on for a few hours until the house had cooled down. Feeling lazy and hungry, I popped up to the Chinese take-away to get dinner. I'm going to have to get back out of the habit of buying take-aways, when I've got meals in the freezer. The 23-year-old red-head from London was also up for coming over to my place, having just got back from Ireland. It could end up in tears, but I agreed to her coming over as well!
I watched Casualty while eating my Chinese, and then turned on my PC to check my e-mail, update my blog, and chat to PlentyOfFish totty. Come midnight, neither of the two birds who said they wanted to come over had called, so I turned my phone onto silent, and went to sleep. I woke up refreshed at about 8 o'clock, and had a few text messages from the Windsor bird. It seems that she'd got a taxi to Langley without calling me, and ended up being dropped in Langley, with nowhere to go! There was nothing from the red-head.
