Sarah called me at about half-eight to make sure that I was awake. She'd left Sarah and Lucy at her house, and got into London to get tickets for the Terracotta Army. I couldn't believe that they'd stayed in bed, when she got up early to get us all tickets. To be fair, I could have gone in to keep her company as well, but didn't. Anyway, she'd got tickets for 14:20, so I got the train into London so we could spend some time together before meeting up with Sarah and Lucy. I didn't have long before the train left, so walked quickly to the station. After I few minutes, I realised that I'd left Sarah's Valentine's card at home. If I went back home, I'd miss the train, so decided that my company was more important than a card, and carried on walking to the station. The ticket machine at the station wasn't taking credit cards, and I had put my last few coins into the charity pot on Friday night, so couldn't use the permit to travel machine. Fortunately, a nice man gave me 5p to put in the machine.
A ticket guvna checked the tickets soon after I got on. He ignored me, so I got his attention, and asked for a ticket. He sold me a ticket for £7.05, but didn't have 5p to refund the price of the permit-to-travel. He said he'd give it to me at Paddington. I tried to find him when I got to Paddington, but he was nowhere to be seen. I'll be complaining to First Great Western, don't you worry! I got a quick cuppa from the doughnut shop (where I could use my WavePay card), and then caught the Tube to Euston Square.
To avoid us ending up on the other side of the road from each other (as we had done when we met there in December), Sarah met me at the ticket barrier. She had bought me some Valentine's sushi, but did agree that I was right not to go back home to get her card. She suggested going to a park to eat my sushi, and then going to the Transport Museum. I had no idea where we were, so relied on Sarah for directions. As we were walking along the road, she said that the Transport Museum was straight on, but that we could turn left to get to a park. We did this, and found a park (although it wasn't actually the park that Sarah was aiming for). The sushi and chocolate were lovely (being a nice lad, I shared some of the chocolate with Sarah). We then continued the journey to the Transport Museum, but I did say to Sarah that I thought we should go back on ourselves, and not continue along the road. She disagreed, but realised soon afterwards that I was right. She's beginning to lose her ability to navigate around London. We then turned right, and I recognise the Brunswick Centre from our free night out. I persuaded Sarah to stop for a quick cuppa at Giraffe. Despite it being a bit cold, we decided to sit outside.
After a while, I went inside to get somebody's attention, and a totty waitress came outside to serve us. Once we'd ordered, I nipped inside to use the loo. When I came outside, Sarah had told the waitress that I'd made her sit outside! The cheek of it! Once we'd finished, I went back inside to pay the bill. I was served by a bloke, but the totty waitress winked at me as she walked past. If only I wasn't with totty! Realising that there wasn't time for the Transport Museum any more, we went off in search of somewhere to eat. There was a restaurant called "Apostrophe", but there was something missing from the menu! I tried to persuade Sarah to eat in the pie shop, but she wasn't up for that. We therefore went back to Giraffe, but asked for a table inside this time. The totty waitress (who by this time was being quite "touchy feely" with me) went to clear a table. As soon as the table was cleared, somebody came in behind us, and the bloke showed them to our table! The totty was very apologetic, but they found us a table in a booth instead. Lucy and Sarah turned up soon afterwards - if only I was allowed to sleep with Sarah's mates - her mate Sarah is gorgeous!
After eating, we walked to the British Museum. It was about 14:05, so we had time to go into the games shop opposite, so that Lucy could buy some games for her father. Unfortunately, the shop didn't have any of the games that he wanted in stock. After dropping the girls' suitcases off at the left luggage, and being told that there was "absolutely no photography", we went to check out the Terracotta Army. It's a brilliant exhibition - if only China wasn't so far away, we could see the entire army. We learnt that China was founded by a block called Quinn. I spent about 10 minutes why it wasn't called "Quinna", before I realised that "Quinn" is pronounced "Chin"! The exhibition isn't going to be in London for ever, so I'm so glad that I saw it before I left.
We had a quick cuppa in a café opposite, before Sarah and Lucy went home (Lucy was going home via Heathrow, so I didn't suggest travelling together). Sarah and I then went to have a bite to eat in Yo!Sushi, so that I could buy something other than tea with my WavePay card. We managed to spend £9.80 (the maximum WavePay spend is £10), but discovered that they charged for the tap water, so actually spent over £10. I was going to complain about being charged for the tap water, but it's referred to as "filtered water" in the menu, so they're probably allowed to charge for it because they filter it. Sarah had jobs to do at home, so we called it a night fairly early. At Paddington, I only had two minutes until the next Langley train left, and it was leaving from the furthest platform. I ran all the way there, I was surprised to find that it only took me a minute. I'm obviously fitter than I thought!
Back at home, I watched the last two episodes of Mistresses before going to bed. This means that I've watched everything that I've recorded over the last few weeks, but I've still got last year's Eurovision Song Contest, several episodes of Call Girl, and a few episodes of The Gadget Show to watch.
