I woke up at about 9 o'clock to the sound of birds. Unfortunately, it was closely followed by some scratching, and then some running up and down. No wonder the roofer hadn't sent an invoice to me, he hadn't finished the job. Before making breakfast, I checked the traps in the loft, and the squirrel hadn't been caught in any of them. It didn't actually sound as if it had done anything apart from run up and down the soffits (or whatever they're called), and there was no sign of it when I was up there. If anybody had seen me climbing into my loft wearing a dressing-gown, and a cycling helmet, they would have had something to say!
I spent the rest of the day doing more stuff around the house. Since I'd spent some cash on beer yesterday, it was OK to buy some milk from Budgens to keep me in tea. Once of the jobs that I did was to give the bike a proper clean - I'm not just talking about a quick clean, I de-skanked the chain properly as well (as Fatters pointed out when we were in Guildford, the chain needed a good clean). The only thing I couldn't figure out how to do was to lube [what a brilliant word] the brake and gear cables. Oh well, I'll pop into Stow Cycles to ask for some advice. I also washed my windows, but, unfortunately, it was far too cold for the downstairs totty to be sunbathing!
At about 5PM (after Budgens had closed), I realised that I needed some more soap, so had to go to the little Tesco. A liquid soap dispenser cost £1.44, but I only had 20p in my pocket. The gimmers didn't do cashback, or take contactless payments, so I had to pay £1.44 on my credit card. I also decided that I deserved a few cans of Stella in the evening, so bought some cans from the off license as well. Apart from the two breaks to go to the shops, and a break at lunchtime to watch last week's episode of Torchwood, I'd been on the go all day. At about 9PM, I decided that it was time to eat. Having not eaten meat since last Saturday, I thought it would be a good idea to get a Chinese take-away. I got 10 quid out of the cashpoint cash machine, and the take-away cost £10.10, leaving me with only 10p in my pocket.
Back at home, I sat down to eat my take-away, drink some Stella, and watch this week's episodes of Torchwood and Mistresses. The girl-on-girl action didn't disappoint, and there was promise of some more girl-on-girl action next week. Unfortunately, next week's girl-on-girl action would be part of a 3-some, so there would be some horrible naked bloke taking part. Still, at least there wasn't going to be a 3-some involving two men and one woman. That's just wrong!
