I woke up at about 08:30, and called the roofer. He said he'd fix my roof on Wednesday or Thursday, but hadn't called, or left an invoice. He said that somebody had been out and blocked some holes (including the one that somebody else had blocked in June last year), but couldn't finish the job, or check the neighbours' roofs, because it had started raining. He said that rain was forecast for Monday, but that he would try to get somebody out on Tuesday.
I put on my final load of washing for the week, piled up all the paperwork that needed sorting out, did a bit of tidying up in the kitchen (I'll finish putting the dishwasher in properly next week), and put on another load of washing in the dishwasher. Apart from the odd plastic thing not drying properly, all the cutlery and crockery came out sparkling, and dry. Dishwashers really are the way forward. I then remembered that I still hadn't fixed the puncture that I got yesterday, so carried the bike up to the kitchen, and replaced the inner tube. I pumped the tyre up, but didn't attach it to the bike, just in case it went flat again. I checked the tyre itself - there were several stones stuck in the groves, but I couldn't see exactly what had caused the puncture. Oh well.
I left home a bit later than I had intended to, but the trains and tubes were all running OK, so I got to my parents place in good time. My only complaint is the timing of the trains between Charing Cross and Blackheath on a Saturday afternoon. There are four trains an hour - 18:17, 18:20, 18:47, and 18:50. Talk about pants - I'd just missed the 18:20, so had to wait for the 18:47. How about running one every 15 minutes, or is that just too convenient?
My mother had cooked a lovely meal, and their dog was very well behaved. I was even more impressed that my father didn't want to watch Match of the Day (talking about Match of the Day, check out My Blog - Match of the Day). We also used their dishwasher, so I could compare how it dried with how mine dried.
We were all fairly knackered, so didn't stay up too late.
