Billie Piper Call GirlMy PC started running really slowly as soon as it booted up, so I wasn't convinced that it would stay stable all day. On the way into work, I had to stop at almost every junction today, so thought I might as well stop one more time to take a picture of Billie Piper. I got some funny looks, but who cares. It's getting quite cold in the mornings, I think it's time to get those ski-gloves out again. Either that, or actually invest in a pair of cycling gloves. At about 3PM, the shop that I'd ordered a replacement on/off switch for my washing machine called, to say that it had arrived. I took a late lunchbreak, and went to collect it at about 4PM, thinking that the shop closed at 5PM. Strangely, MadWalkAroundInCirclesMan was there, but, because it wasn't 5PM, was walking around in circles on a different spot! I popped into Sainsbury's on the way back to the office, to get some milk for the office, and noticed that Tetrapack recycling bins were in the recycling centre near work as well. Top marks to Slough Council. I'd asked it months ago when it was going to install Tetrapack recycling bins, it hasn't replied yet, but at least it's installed them. When I got back to work, my boss had his laptop in the back of his car, and was standing around, waiting to leave.

I had some Clubcard vouchers to get extra points, so, on my way home, I popped into Tesco, and spent £1 on home baking, 80p on orange juice, £1 on organic dairy, and £8 on Health and Beauty. I didn't have enough room in my bag to spend £2 on cereal, so that'll have to wait for another day. I also bought a pair of jeans, but didn't get any extra points for that.

Back at home, I wasn't surprised to find that my PC had crashed soon after booting up. I rebooted it a few times, and then ran a disk defrag. While doing that, I put another load of washing on. As soon as I buy a replacement switch, the existing switch seems to work fine! I went to try the trousers on, and found that they had a button fly. New-fangled nonsense, I'll have to change them tomorrow. While I was doing the washing-up, Maffy (an old mate from university) called. We'd lost contact, but he typed my name into Google, found this site, and then contacted me. We were going to go out for a few beers tomorrow, but the fool had double-booked himself. Still, it was nice to hear from him. I like being a man. We hadn't spoken for about 10 years, but a 4-minute telephone call sufficed. I checked the disk defrag, and Windows had failed to defrag some files, but the list of files was empty. I think I'll have to download another defrag program, but which one?

Leaving my PC running a virus check (which it should have run this afternoon), I popped out to drop off my plastic recycling, and to find out whether there were any Tertrapack recycling bins in Langley. There wasn't one at the main recycling centre, but there was space in the textile bin for on old pair of my pants. I went to the swimming pool, to get a swimming timetable. On the way there, I was pleased to find that the pub near there had been refurbished, and that there were Tetrapack recycling bins in the recycling centre outside. I wasn't impressed to see that pub had been renamed "Langleys" without an apostrophe. That reminds me - there's a mobile phone shop in Slough called "Mobile's". Granted, it could be owned by Mr. Mobile, but I doubt it. Anyway, I picked up a timetable, but it's only valid until 28th September!

After doing another lot of ironing, and watching the 10 o'clock news, I tried retuning my multi-media centre. When I re-tuned it a few months ago, some of the ITV and C4 channels turned into 6 blank channels (DTV Programme 1 to DTV Programme 6). After re-tuning tonight, I lost even more ITV and C4 channels, and had 10 blank DTV Programme channels). I only had two ITV/C4 channels left - ITV2+1 and Film4. Fortunately, Secret Diary of a Call Girl is on ITV2+1 as well as ITV2. I also found a new channel (Nuts TV), which must be worth investigating.
