Another busy, but not particularly interesting day at work. There wasn't even any perving to do on the bus, or annoying salesmen to get rid of at work. At least I took time for a lunchbreak today. I had to pick up a few things from Woolworth's. While I was there, I replaced the adjustable spanner that Scary had "borrowed" in January.
On the way back, I remembered that I needed some Orange Juice, and some toilet roll. I prefer the idea of buying from small local shops, but Tesco is the only shop that I knew would stock both toilet roll made from recycled paper, and organic orange juice. I still haven't really found my way around the new Tesco, but I managed to find what I needed fairly quickly. The normal checkouts all looked quite busy, so I decided to give the self-service tills another go. It all went OK, except when I put my toolbox on the conveyor belt, the machine threw a wobbly, because I hadn't scanned it! By the time I'd finished paying, some gimmer had packed my shopping into a carrier bag. I therefore had to waste time taking my shopping out of the carrier bag, and putting it into my backpack.
Fortunately, there was no mad woman in the lift, so I got to walk home in peace. The Union Flag outside the fire station was at half mast. I didn't know why, but removed my cap as I passed, as a mark of respect. There's nothing on BBC Berkshire's website to tell me why it was at half mast, but I'm sure they had good reason.
I spent the evening doing various jobs around the house, including sorting out my dive kit ready for next weekend. I'm not sure exactly what diving we are going to do, so was going to have to take all 8 cylinders with me, just in case.
